David brings over two decades of litigation and transactional experience to his clients’ disputes and business deals. David’s clients include individuals, small and mid-size companies, and large corporations. He has successfully represented his clients in court, arbitration and mediation as well as before administrative agencies. David and his family returned to Boulder where his wife’s family ran the famed Peking Restaurant on Pearl Street.

David began his career working with Prisoners Legal Services of New York, then moved on to two Am Law 100 firms in Los Angeles litigating disputes valued in the hundreds of millions including excess and reinsurance, WIPO domain name, LUST liability, admiralty and maritime matters including Jones Act defense, international shipping, charter party and bill of lading disputes, and regulatory compliance, and cargo claims requiring the arrest of international vessels in the Port of Los Angeles and Long Beach.

David continues his business litigation and transactions practice in the Louisville, Boulder, and Denver, CO area with Thomas P. Howard, LLC. David presently represents individual and business clients in matters involving: entity selection and formation, including crafting shareholder agreements, operating agreements, and by-laws. His litigation practice includes corporate litigation (including disputes involving shareholders, directors, officers, members and managers); breach of contract (U.C.C. and common law); trade secrets and intellectual property; business torts (fraud, misrepresentation and concealment, interference with contract); employment advice and litigation (including confidentiality and non-compete agreements, discrimination and other major issues); and very occasionally he still handles the odd admiralty case in land-locked Colorado.
